The Chinese authorities announced the launch of a grandiose program to modernize Internet structures in the Middle Kingdom. And to spend on all this is planned just some fabulous money. Just think about these figures: $ 182 billion will be invested in fiber optic networks, as well as in 4G communications throughout the country within the next two and a half years.
A representative of the Chinese authorities said in an interview that the government plans to invest 69.3 billion dollars in the construction of new networks during this year. Another amount of $ 112.8 billion will be injected into Internet structures before the end of 2017.
For comparison: the UK authorities for the past few years have invested about $ 1.22 billion in Internet development, or about $ 20 per active Internet user. In China, one user is planned to spend as much as $ 132.
Large-scale reform of the Internet should put an end to the differences in the speed of China's national Internet. Many believe that these "brakes" are caused by a monitoring system known as the "Great Chinese Firewall" or "Golden Shield". This project was put into operation in 2003 and is a server system on an Internet channel between providers and international transmission networks that filters information.
Official representatives of the Chinese authorities claim that by 2017 100-megabit fiber-optic networks will provide not only cities, but more than 80% of Chinese villages. Also in all cities and villages will be access to 4G-networks at speeds up to 30 Mbit / s.
