Free Wi-Fi network has earned another two branches of the Moscow metro - Zamoskvoretskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya. The fact of the functioning of the network was found out during a series of tests conducted by our editorial board.
Earlier, the operator Maxima Telecom, which is engaged in the development of Wi-Fi in the Moscow metro, said that it had begun to install equipment in the cars of these two lines, but so far it was impossible to connect to the network. When the train moves, the Internet speed ranges from 50 Mbit / s to 80 Mbit / s.
So far, Wi-Fi on the Zamoskvoretskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines can only be used on special trains, in the carriages of which there is a transparent Wi-Fi sticker. The number of such trains on the "green" branch is about 80. According to MaksimaTelecom, in the near future all the cars of these branches will be equipped with wireless Internet.
The project to equip the subway cars with wireless Internet access started on September 1, 2013. Since then, Wi-Fi networks have appeared on the Koltsevaya, Kakhovskaya, Kalininskaya, Sokolnicheskaya and Lyublinskaya-Dmitrovskaya lines of the Moscow metro.
The length of the Zamoskvoretskaya line, which is one of the longest in Moscow, is 40 kilometers.
