Have you ever wondered how many devices are connected to the Internet in the world? And where is their biggest concentration? One person conducted an interesting experiment and arranged a global PING of all computers connected to the Internet, smart things and appliances.
The man that turned out to be John Matterley, the founder of the search engine. which is the world's first search engine on the Internet of things. His search engine allows manufacturers of equipment for "smart homes" to determine which of their devices are currently connected to the Internet, and where they are located geographically.
John pinged all the devices that have access to the Internet and, on the basis of the data obtained, created a map of the world, where clusters of discovered devices are marked.
No one will be surprised to see that the largest concentration of Internet connections is in the USA, the east coast of South America, European countries, India, China and Japan. Least of all Internet users in Africa, Australia, Greenland, Canada, Alaska and in the north of Russia.
As for Russia, of course, the maximum number of Internet connections is registered in the European part of the country, especially around Moscow and St. Petersburg. The farther east, the lower the concentration of Internet connections.
You can not be sure that the experiment of John Matterley reflects 100% of all devices connected to the Internet, but in any case, the result of this study looks quite curious, and the resulting "Map of the Internet" looks very nice.
