Research firm Telegeography, which monitors cable networks and IP transit around the world, has released another map of the underwater Internet backbone. The image allows ordinary users to see the very web in which the world is entangled. The new map includes 232 active submarine cables, as well as a scheme of 12 new cables, which are planned to be laid before the end of 2014. It also shows the bandwidth of cable lines.
